The Big Picture: AFI’S Great American Movie Quiz
Sept. 4. the American Film Institute reunites with the Bowl for a world premiere event! Alex Trebek hosts this one-of-a-kind Movie Night, testing your film and music knowledge with a feast of the greatest American films from every genre and decade. Labor Day Yacht Party, Mini-Cruise and BBQ
Sept. 5. Sept. 3. Los Angeles State Historic Park downtown hosts this annual concert festival that’s a virtual mini-Coachella, featuring indie rock and alternative music’s hottest bands. Los Angeles County Fair
Opens Sept. 3. The largest county fair in North America returns with rides, animals, country and rock concerts and other entertainment at the Fairplex in Pomona. Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s Soup Cans
Through Sept. 19. Pop artist Andy Warhol’s paintings of Campbell’s soup cans are probably his most iconic pieces. An installation of his 32 soup-can paintings opens at Museum of Contemporary Art downtown on the 49th anniversary of the original exhibition at Ferus Gallery in L.A., Warhol’s first solo show. Inara George Presents A Tribute to Burt Bacharach and Hal David
Sept. 5. Inara George and some of LA’s most inspired songwriters and guests (John C. Reilly, Mike Andrews, Juliette Commagere, Eleni Mandell and many more) perform their interpretations of the songs of Burt Bacharach and Hal David. The duo is known for leaving an indelible mark on the past half century of pop music.
