Herb Ritts: L.A. Style at the Getty Center
Los Angeles-based photographer Herb Ritts’ iconic images of fashion models, nudes and celebrities are on display at the Getty Center.
In the wake of the pop art movement of the 1960s and ‘70s, Herb Ritts’ photographs created a synergy of art, popular culture and business. Apr. 3–Aug. 26, Ritts’ unique images of fashion models, nudes and celebrities are on display at the Getty Center in Brentwood. Herb Ritts: L.A. Style explores the Los Angeles-based photographer’s extensive archive, including a selection of renowned and previously unpublished photographs, as well as his directorial projects. Opening the exhibit are portraits of celebrities such as Britney Spears, Richard Gere and Madonna; Ritts’ anti-glamour style of portraiture is known for giving these famous faces a more natural look, revealing their inner qualities and making them more accessible to fans.
