Lock & Key: Your Speakeasy Spot for Drinks in Koreatown

Lock & Key in Koreatown
Crafted cocktails at Lock & Key in Koreatown.

Sip crafted cocktails and dine on street-food fare in the heart of Koreatown at this hidden nightspot—all you need is the password.

As the name suggests, making your way into the new speakeasy-style Koreatown lounge/bar Lock & Key requires a little effort. First, find the unmarked red door. (Hint: Look for the bar’s adjacent food window, Stall 239, and its line of customers awaiting their Taiwanese “Angry Bird” chicken.) Beyond that door, you’re surrounded by knobs and keys, one of which allows entry into the bar itself. Once inside, you encounter a moody, low-lit space featuring green banquettes, dark wood paneling and brass accents. Order from the international street-food-inspired menu, then sidle up to the marble-backed bar to try a specialty cocktail. A Grape Gatsby—with cognac, walnut liqueur, sherry, lemon juice, Demerara syrup, egg white, red grapes and nutmeg—or a Daisy B, with Sancerre, gin, elderflower liqueur, lemon juice and green grapes, will help you party like it’s 1922.
