American musical treasure, Barry Manilow mans the music for Harmony on stage at the Ahmanson Theatre in downtown Los Angeles from March 4-April 13.

With legendary songwriter and entertainer Barry Manilow behind the music and his frequent collaborator, Bruce Sussman, penning the book and lyrics, the new musical Harmony is sure to get toes tapping. But the plot is more than pop-song deep. Harmony tells the true story of the Comedian Harmonists, a vaudevillian, six-man singing group from Germany that rose from unemployment to international fame in the 1920s. The sextet’s close harmonies and onstage antics helped them sell millions of records, pack concert halls and star in films … that is, before the group’s mix of Jewish and non-Jewish members struck a sour chord with the nascent Nazis. Tony Speciale directs the co-production with Center Theatre Group and Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre, opening March 4 at the Ahmanson Theatre downtown.

WhereLA.com readers can grab mid-orchestra seats at $39 (reg. $60) and $49 (reg. $70) on performances through March 25, by using promo code “BOYBAND”.
